Essential Tremor Seminar
The International Essential Tremor Foundation is partnering with Mercy Medical Center – Des Moines to host a free seminar on the diagnosis process, treatment options and current research for essential tremor. The seminar will take place Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the East Tower Auditorium. Speakers at this event include Randall Hamilton, M.D., movement disorders neurologist at Mercy Ruan Neurology Clinic, and Esmiralda Henderson, M.D., neurosurgeon at Mercy Neurosurgery. Parkinson's Disease Support
Regular support meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, March - November. At each meeting, an exercise session is held from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a guest speaker from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. This group meets in the East Tower Conference Center at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines. Patients, family members and care givers are all welcome to attend.
Meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month in the East Tower Conference Center at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines. Guest speakers will address challenges faced by those with a seizure history by covering topics including employment, transportation, advocacy, medications, pregnancy, legal issues, parenting, safety and financial issues.

Facetime with Ruan Neurology – Roundtable Discussion
Visit the Mercy Ruan Neurology Clinic, located in the East Tower at Mercy Medical Center - Des Moines on the second Monday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a light lunch and discussion about various MS related topics.
Alzheimer's Disease Support
ALZHEIMER’S BEGINNING THE CONVERSATION provides a one-time, basic understanding discussion
Meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month in Des Moines
ALUMNI GROUP for caregivers that were in the Memory Minders support group in the past
Meets from 1:30-3 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month in Des Moines
NEWLY DIAGNOSED-ADJUSTING TO THE NEWS
Meets from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Des Moines
NEWLY DIAGNOSED/EARLY STAGE GROUP
Meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in Ames
